A Beauty therapist works in one of the largest, trusted, professional and continually expanding industries within the Hair and Beauty Sector. Beauty Therapists provide vital one-on-one Beauty Therapy services while upholding the organisation's image, financial health, and reputation. They execute all responsibilities and treatments within the occupational role's boundaries, adhering to legal, industry, and organisational standards, and completing tasks within commercially reasonable timeframes. They conduct themselves with professionalism, working independently, and adhere to strict safety practices with a high degree of accuracy..

Who is it for?

With the demand for beauty therapy and cosmetic enhancement on the increase, the beauty industry is rapidly growing, increasing the demand from employers to engage with enthusiastic and dynamic employees to help deliver new and innovative treatments to paying clients.

Employer Commitment:

An employer must be prepared to provide the learner with the opportunity to carry out work and be part of projects which will enable the learner to produce substantial evidence towards their qualiPcation. In order to ensure the successful progression of the learner we request that employers participate in joint reviews of the learner’s progress at regular intervals throughout the apprenticeship. This ensures continued and positive progress through the apprenticeship. It will also provide the opportunity to discuss and agree on how any issues are to be resolved and how additional stretching and challenging activities can be built in.

Course Duration:

15 months (this does not include EPA period).The apprenticeship will typically take between 12 and 15 months to complete.


You must achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to taking the end-point assessment.


Apprentices must have achieved the Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Professionals - Beauty Therapist qualification and achieved the required level 1 qualification (or equivalent) in English and maths

Before progressing to the end-point assessment, apprentices must have:Achieved level 2 English and maths Functional Skills or GCSE grade 4-9/A*-C qualiPcations.

Level 2 Beauty Therapist :

The Knowledge and Skills element of the course will include:

A beauty therapist will learn how to:

  • • carry out beauty therapy treatments in line with legal, industry and organisational requirements, maintaining honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
  • • carry out, maintains and stores detailed and confidential beauty treatment consultations with clients, choosing the most appropriate treatments and products.
  • • implement and practice safe ways of working for themselves and others in accordance with legal beauty therapy and organisational requirements.
  • • select, use, and apply a range of beauty therapy techniques, products, tools and equipment

A beauty therapist will learn how to use tools and techniques to provide:

A beauty therapist will learn how to facilitate the client journey:

  • • facilitate the client journey, make appointments, completes the services and handles payments from clients.
  • • provide advice and recommendations on the beauty treatments and appointments.
  • • portray professionalism and values that meet Beauty Therapy industry requirements and expectations.
  • • maintain standards of appearance and the salon/spa image, etiquette and hygiene.
